McCormick Tribune Campus Center IIT - OMA

Completed in 2003, the McCormick Tribune Campus Center is located on the grounds of the IIT in Chicago. Designed by OMA, the complex is a playful addition to the campus masterplan of Mies van der Rohe, contributing coloured, etched, and reflective surfaces to the prevailing architecture of the 1940s - 1970s.

The center houses a variety of collective functions for IIT students including offices for student advisors, dining facilities, and public lectures halls. Portraits of key historic alumni of the IIT are etched onto glazed interior partitions using a pattern developed by OMA. This personal series documented the center in 2011.
